Micket Thompson
ET Street Radials 255/50/16
Used these on both 8's and 9's. Too ballony on 8's. Not very good at recovering from tire spin. Stick cars and radials take alot of good suspension and a proper drag clutch to work well.
Best 60ft on these was low 1.7

ET Street Bias Ply 26x11.5x16
A LOT of tire here. Had these on 9's. Required fender rolling to clear my lowered car. On 9's these are right up to the edge of the lip. Great for a high HP setup. Id recommend DSS axles for these.
Best 60ft 1.47 consistant low 1.5's

ET Street Bias Ply 26x10.5x16 (currently using)
These on 9's look a little stretched but give me a good amount of fender clearance.
Best 60ft 1.49. Working on getting that lower.

Nitto 555R 245/50/16
These are my street tires. Hooks okay after a good burnout. Replaced my Falcons with these. Got tired of spinning in 3rd and 4th on the onramps.

My car is stock springs with tokio struts.  I could never get a good launch with street tires. Not enought power = bog, to much = spin and hop.

ET Street Bias Ply 26x10.5x16
Had these on 8. They had some rub marks on them. I am told they have better clearence when on 9's
Always gave a good launch. If they did spin the car still went. Only used them about 3 times and never really dropped the hammer hard enough to really take full advantage of them. Some pucker stole them.
Hairy on the street. Slow down for the corners!

Nitto 555R 245/50/16 I have these on 9's.
These are my summer street tires. Cured the wheel spin problems i had with the crappy street tires i would put on in the winter.
Better grip then street tires at the track, but still hard to lanuch Safe in the rain if you use caution.

BF Goodrich 255-50-16  g-Force T/A Drag Radial 2
I have these on 8. Should be mounted on 9's. More grip then the nittos but still hard to launch hard with out wheel hop. Less tread then the Nittos. Previous owner had them shaved and heat cycled, so even less tread. I was scared of getting caught in the rain with these so i never ran them much. It can rain out of a clear sky with out warning in PA.

Hoosier 225-50-16 Drag radials.
My buddy pulled consitant 1.7's with these. Amazing grip for a 225. I tend not to drop the hammer hard enought with these. If track prep is poor, i can spin these and they may hop if they spin. The side walls are stiffer then the et streets. They are not really a street tire, but my car drives normally and feels safe on the street so i do drive to the track with them on. About 35 miles one way.
The smaller diameter lets my motor rev out better in 4 th at the track.

The 255's and mt et's are a little tall for my power band at the track. If i go back to them my 1/4 times may benifit from 3.90 gears.

My Hoosiers are a little past there prime so i usually go to the track when it is prepped for a test and tune or when it is prepped for the street car shoot out cars. So i do not waste my time spinning on a typical friday night. I do not get out much any more.
