Any cool tips or ideas for doing up a storage room/upstairs loft
« on: December 20, 2017, 07:06:29 PM »
My shop is up. 40x40x12 pole barn

One thing I have wanted ever since my kids were born is an upstairs loft/hangout. Its above the storage/bathroom. Im going to build a double barrel septic system.

Im kinda goin for the outhouse/divebar look hahaha. I want it structurally sound but to have that scummy look hahaha. So anyways any ideas would be appreciated.

Still brainstorming how im gonna heat and light it. I like it bright. Been experimenting with a waste oil heater thats ultra finnicky. I dont want to spend the whole day tending a fire large enough to heat this thing. Im broke dick at the moment but hope to spray foam the place.

Any tips there, also appreciated.

I found some 4 thick foam sheets on Craigslist for cheap. 7$ a sheet and it works damn good. I put an ultra 90 gas furnace in with central air. Its nice but costs a bit to run so I too am looking into a oil burner. I have give. Away 50+gal this year already. As far as structure of a loft. I used tapcons to anchor the wood to the Concrete. But left the room small enough for a small electric heater for the plumbing. Hope this helps. And pics of your oil burner. How are you doing a good heat exchange?

Not too bad. I will keep looking. 20ft sheet may be hard to transport.

Hey glad ya asked!
I oil stained a bunch of pallet board, hung up things ive had boxed up for years.

Next project is the stairs. Ignore the random shoplight. Temp solution

Long time from now. I want quality and to redo the pad where it will sit.
