Need Posi Diff for a Flatty
« on: May 06, 2020, 06:21:57 AM »
i have my good friend Intercooledflatty (Harry) searching to see if he has one but wanted to see if anyone else might have one.

Mine is a 84 Technica and I would like to find a locking diff i can just bolt right in. Keep dreaming right....lol.

I am ignorant in those. What is the diff between the 84 and 86/87 diff?

My thinking is just to install a locked up later model diff

tp be fair it only spins one wheel when you power brake it. if you just dump the clutch and let it spin it will leave two black marks all the way down the block.

Im really not sure what the difference is either Phil but everything i have read says they are different. But i heard the same about the driveshaft and I have a spare 87 driveshaft and it bolts right up. From what i understand the axle ends that go in the diff are different lengths or something like that.

I just picked up a 87 Technica as a parts car thats been hit hard in the passenger side. I havent got around to checking the diff yet to see if it might have a posi.
